A Lazy Day

I wore this outfit for a lazy day off work yesterday. I didn't do very much, just walked the dog, got some odd-jobs done & read, but sometimes those sorts of days can be just as satisfying as the busy or more exciting days, don't you think?

I'm wearing one of my favourite oversized tees, this Topshop skull adorned one, which I definitely don't wear often enough, as well as a new jacket I picked up in Primark (I only went in intending to buy an umbrella, but came out with a jacket instead, oops) and my UO double finger cross ring. Speaking of rings, I have been checking out some online jewellery stores in search of more special pieces to add to my collection.

Necklace & Knit

The temperature has suddenly dropped here (considering we had quite a mild December) & I can see my breath every time I go outside... Hence the fact I'm living in my oversized, woollen knits at the moment! I can't stop, I'm sorry Fashion Gods!

At least I have my new Topshop necklace, which I bought in the sales a couple of weeks ago, to adorn my woollen outfits. It was half price and I am incapable of resisting half price Topshop jewellery, but is anyone?!

About A Coat

I bought this jacket a couple of months ago on my first visit to the Cheshire Oaks Outlet village. Marks & Spencer isn't a store I usually shop in, but I was with my Mum and she loves it, so I went in with her... And then this jacket caught my eye. I knew I didn't necessarily need a new statement jacket, but the desire to own it was greater than any sensible notions I had, and so it came home with me. And I am so glad that it did, because it is so warm and so much fun to wear!

I wore it with one of my favourite blouses, from H&M, & simple skinny jeans to shop/eat lunch in Liverpool with the boyfriend yesterday. I didn't buy anything in the end, but had a lovely long lunch at Jamie's Italian, which I will post about soon!

NYE Outfit

I thought I should do a quick post to share my New Year's Eve outfit, since I have neglected to post any holiday related outfits over the last couple of weeks, despite the fact that it has been my birthday & Christmas too!

I love this jersey snake-print dress, which is from H&M; it is so easy to throw on (which is lucky since I had to get ready for NYE very quickly as I'd been in work all day) and is super comfortable. It being comfy is also handy, as I'm finding it increasingly difficult to dress for anything other than comfort in this cold, windy weather at the moment. I have been guilty of throwing on jeans and multiple woollen jumpers and scarves lately and ignoring more 'exciting' items of clothing, so it is nice to have dresses like this one to rely on for both comfort and style!

Wardrobe Staples

Black skirt: Black is a common color in many wardrobe staples and for good reason, as it’s both subdued and work-appropriate but also glamorous and elegant when it needs to be. Don’t go too short with the skirt as that will limit it but a knee-length skirt is perfect for many different occasions and settings.

This morning I spent browsing all of my favourite Streetstyle websites. I haven't had much time over the last few weeks to curl up on the sofa by myself and gorge on fashion, so it was nice to have a catch up! Here I have put together six of my favourite looks from recent streetstyle posts.

I am finally going to visit the high street sales today, although I'm sure I will have missed out on all the good bargains by now! Sometimes it is best to stay away from the shops during the uber-busy sales season though, and today I will hopefully have a slightly more relaxed shopping experience than I would have on, say, Boxing Day! Chestnuts Roasting...

Every year I forget how stressful and crazy the week leading upto Christmas day is going to be & this year has been no exception! With my boyfriend's birthday last weekend, my birthday on Tuesday and lots of last minute Christmas shopping, gift-wrapping and baking to be done I have barely had time to turn on my laptop! It will all be worth it to hopefully have a lovely Christmas day though :).

I love this tie-dye print Topshop dress and grab any opportunity to wear it (this time opportunity came in the form of the boyfriend's birthday celebration). It is a couple of years old, but is one of those items that you can picture hanging in your wardrobe for years to come. I love feeling like that about items of clothing!

Things That Sparkle

Sorry about the absence; I have had a bad cold all week and when I've not been at work I've been snuggled up under a blanket on the sofa. Therefore, not much opportunity for outfit posts!

I received a PR email this week about the various glittered shoes from Chockers. I don't post about specific brands or products that I've been emailed about very often, but I've been desperate to find the perfect pair of, colourful, sparkly shoes to make my holiday season outfits just that little bit more special and so when I cast my eyes over this lot I was pretty excited! It is my birthday coming up on Tuesday the 20th and if I receive any money as a gift I am definitely going to be spending it on one of these glitterific pairs of shoes!

On Halloween I dressed as a Bela Lugosi style Dracula, complete with cape and slicked back hair. Part of my costume was a velvet choker with a metal cross charm attached, which I wore with a white shirt and cost me £1 from a "pound" store, full of cheap and cheerful Halloween bits and bobs. So, unsurprisingly, I never thought that I would end up wearing said piece of costume again as a regular accessory. But, when I spotted it still lying in my bedroom last week, I had overwhelming urge to wear it again and so this outfit came about!

The shirt is the boyf's from F21 men's section, and I thought the casual, checked design would be a perfect antidote to the dramatic, gothy look of the velvet and the cross attached!

The Imperfectionist

I wore this outfit for lunch with the boyfriend and a hair appointment (these were taken pre-appointment, so my hair is shorter now) at the weekend.

I swear it all looked less creased in real life. The sleeves on the coat are admittedly slightly too long, hence the crumpled effect, but then coat sleeves always seem to be too long for my arms!

Just call me the imperfectionist; creases and crumples and incorrect lengths always find their way into my outfits. I guess not every item of clothing has to end up looking perfectly preened in order to enjoy dressing up!

Just History

This weekend I spent in Northampton with my boyfriend, visiting his Mam who moved there recently. We spent lots of time in some of the beautiful, little villages surrounding the town. One such village was Brixworth, which is home to a 7th Century Anglo-Saxon church. It is such a beautiful building, and to think that it has been standing for 1,300 years is amazing!

I'm wearing the dinosaur sweater from Topshop that I posted about wanting way back in August (here). It is so cosy and so much fun to wear! I am also wearing my new staple cardigan, which is from H&M. I love the colour, plus it has patches on the elbows, not that you can tell from the photo!

On A Winter's Day

I opted for comfort over style for a long dog-walk in the sand dunes yesterday afternoon! Jeans, converse & an oversized warm jumper = the perfect combination. I added my favourite F21 necklace for a bit of sparkle.
Alfie dog had a fun walk, though he hurt his paw and has been limping since then. I feel so bad for him. Hopefully it will get better, otherwise a trip to the vets will be in order.

I went to Cheshire Oaks outlet village on Friday for the first time, and was pleasantly surprised. I bought a faux-fur jacket from the Marks & Spencer outlet store (not somewhere I would usually expect to find a jacket), which I am really excited to show you all!

Outfit, Halloween Prep & Winter Coats

I know, not the best photos ever; sorry! Wore this outfit for yet more halloween decoration shopping & then to begin setting it all up in the house ready for tonight's party! I am so excited; There are pumpkins galore & hundreds of candles set up in the room I am sat in right now, and we still have lots to set up.

It's gotten to the time of year when I start to complain to my boyfriend that I am "freezing" whenever I leave the house after nightfall, and I think that this signals that it is time for me to invest in a new winter coat. I have been browsing online and so far, this Topshop coat is my favourite. It is 70% wool & the faux fur collar is detachable. What do you guys think? Like it?

I wore this today whilst me & the boy dashed round town, picking up props and decorations for our up-coming Halloween party. I am so excited to decorate the house with lots of scary and gory props... And drink the Halloween themed punch!

I love this leopard print handbag; I bought it quite a while ago in a Topshop sale (maybe around March?), but it ended up in a box under my bed and so this is the first time I have worn it. It is clearly become my staple, go-to bag for a while, because it is such a perfect size (I love bags with lots and lots of space inside) and I love that it is multi-handled.

I love Sundays. Spending time with loved ones, eating big cooked breakfasts or Sunday Roast dinner, catching up on your favourite TV shows you've missed during the busy week, getting time to sit down and read or work on a project. Oh Sunday, you beauty!

This morning I accompanied the family & family friends to brunch and drank a lot of tea. I decided to wear this DIY denim shirt that I bleached a few years ago, whilst I was at university. (There seemed to be a season in which almost every blogger was bleaching all sorts of items & I had lots of fun joining in. I think I bleached a tee which my boyfriend has since stolen and claimed as his own too.) I paired the shirt with a studded belt & I was contemplating wearing heels, but my feet demanded comfort, so pumps won out. :)

Late, Late Summer

It is October and it has been 25 degrees celcius & beautifully sunny the past week. This is very strange, yet completely awesome! This late Summer (which, according to forecasts will be long gone next week) has given me the opportunity to wear some Summery items of clothing that I thought I wouldn't get to put on until next year, which is fun!

Here I'm wearing an AA bandeau bra, floral H&M tank and F21 necklace. The tank top I bought a few months ago and never got round to wearing, so this random October sun granted me the perfect opportunity to get at least one wear out of it before 2012!

I really can't believe we are only three months away from the start of the next year! Despite the warm weather, I have been writing myself a sensible shopping list (well, as sensible as my shopping lists get) with staple items for winter. As well as a new pair of flat, black leather boots (reccomendations welcome), I have added to the list some jewellery from Fresh Trends. I have stretched ears and their organic mother of pearl plugs look amazing!

The Ruffles

While LFW is in full swing, I've been doing what I do best; stuffing my face at Jamie's Italian restaurant to celebrate one of my best friend's 24th birthday. Delicious Arancini & amazing brownie dessert were consumed, along with a celebratory glass of prosecco and all in all it was a lovely night.

I was going to wear a dress, but I really am a jeans girl, I have to admit. Plus it was a cold and damp evening, and jeans just make me feel extra cosy. So, I opted for Primark super skinnies paired with a Zara blouse, Koi Couture ankle boots and Urban Outfitters cross ring.

I wore this outfit out for dinner; where I ate the most delicious salmon pasta (salmon is definitely my favourite food)!

I haven't bought much from Primark recently, but I popped in a couple of weeks ago and picked up this snakeskin print blouse. Not that it can be told from these photos, but it is longer at the back than the front, which I love. I also bought these New Look bootie wedges last week; they're going to be my go-to Autumn boot.

I need to get all caught up on NYFW now; I'm going to make a big mug of tea, put the fire on and get checking out all the shows from this weekend online!

Everybody's Starry Eyed [A/W Trend]

As I sit here at the breakfast bar in my boyfriend's kitchen, there is rain bouncing off the conservatory roof behind me... Autumn has arrived. And with Autumn comes all of the exciting new A/W trends!

One pattern that really stood out for me in the A/W shows earlier this year was star print (at Dolce & Gabbana especially) and I am really excited to see that the high street has created some beautiful patterned pieces too. The thought of getting up on a freezing cold, blustery, dark morning and adorining myself in stars makes me genuinely look forward to such weather!

Browsing this season's star embellished garments, I have noticed they the prints themselves fall into two (equally as covetable) categories:

1. Big, bold, Hollywood Boulevard style stars, like those seen at D&G. I love the goats hair & shearling coat below; it screams "I feel like a star" and would be so much fun to wear. I also love this sweater from Sea NY.

2. Celestial stars that remind us of a real night sky, shown, for example, on this tiered sleeved Topshop blouse and this Oasis dress. The dress is a personal favourite and is definitely on my wishlist for the season! Completing your look with diamond stud earrings would add an extra twinkle to your star themed look too!

Festival Attire

Sorry for the long absence; I was at Leeds festival from last Wednesday until this Monday and since then life has, quite frankly, been completely hectic! No more long breaks for a while, I promise. Leeds fest was fantastic. It was the rainiest festival I have ever been to (not that you can tell from the photos), but that didn't spoil the fun!

Today I had a hair appointment, but my appointment had gotten lost somewhere along the line & so I had to wait an hour after my original time before they could fit me in. Of course this meant I ended up going shopping. I bought two pairs of boots from New Look, which I am excited to show you all; they're to become my Autumn 2011 staple shoes. I love seeing all of the new Autumn collections in the high street stores.
I think it might be my favourite season fashion-wise!

In my defense, they were the only shoes I had with me at the time!

Pismo Beach - San Francisco

Santa Monica & Beyond

It is day three of my Californian roadtrip and it has been amazing so far! Lovely weather, delicious food, beautiful surroundings & fun touristy activities.

Yesterday we spent on Venice Beach boardwalk & at Santa Monica pier, which was so much fun. There were so many interesting (& crazy) people to watch!

Today we drove into Beverly Hills and ate lunch at Nate 'N Al's deli. Best tuna melt sandwich EVER. I swear! Then we went into full on tourist mode and went on the Warner Brothers Studio tour. It was fantastic; it lasted two and a half hours and our guide was full of interesting facts and stories. We saw the back-lots where so many famous movie scenes had been filmed (I think my favourite was seeing the building that is the orphanage in Annie, because, seriously, Hard Knock Life is always in my head hehe) and we saw buildings used in current shows like Shameless US, Pretty Little Liars & True Blood.

I love my favourite TV shows almost as much as fashion and I am a huge True Blood fan so I was rather excited to be standing outside Merlotte's bar, next to Sheriff Andy Bellefleur's car!! Later on in the tour we found out they had just started filming a scene!

We leave Santa Monica to drive up the coast towards San Francisco tomorrow, so I will update soon! :)

Read, Write, Do

Pre-holiday stress has taken over my life.

Today's dilemma is about what books to take with me. I'm pretty sure I'm not even going to get much time to read since I'm not going on a typical "lie beside the pool all day" kind of holiday (if I was I'd need to take at least five books!), but the plane journey takes 11 hours so I will probably read then at least. I may have to take a last minute trip to Waterstones on Sunday!

Aside from clothes shops, I think Waterstones (a UK bookstore) is probably my favourite other shop, even if I don't purchase books there that often.
I just love browsing the whole store (especially the travel writing section, and the recipe books and all of the fiction...) and being surrounded by all of these works that people have spent their time and energy and passion completing. It is very inspiring!

We Are (Very) Handsome

I am still on my epic search for the perfect holiday swimsuit, and it is not going well. A few of you kindly reccomended New Look & when I checked out the website there did seem to be some nice pieces. So today I popped into my local store and it had none of the pieces I liked on the website in stock. Just lots and lots of the ones I didn't like... Just my luck, eh?!

When I arrived home, I decided to torture myself further by browsing the swimwear section on Net-A-Porter and drooling over things I can't afford. And that is where I came across We Are Handsome's amazing swimsuits & bikinis. L-R The Los Angeles swimsuit, The Vermillion bikini

The Los Angeles swimsuit would be a particularly relevant purchase for my up-and-coming Californian roadtrip, plus it is my absolute favourite of the selection that Net-A-Porter has in stock (and as of this moment, top of my I-would-like-this wishlist by far). I would clearly find excuses to wear it on all occasions and at all opportunities; whether it would be an appropriate clothing choice or not!

Another relevant purchase (slash second most desired piece of clothing at the moment) would be the Yosemite swimsuit shown below right, as I am also visiting Yosemite National Park for a few days during my trip! Plus, anything with a soaring eagle emblazened on it gets an A+ in my eyes!

I wish I could afford to splash out on the Los Angeles or Yosemite (which are both £190 on Net-a-Porter), but sadly my last swimsuit, which I loved, lasted approximately five weeks before I lost it whilst on holiday. Don't ask how I lost it, because it remains a mystery to me (don't worry, I wasn't wearing it at the time!), but the sad fact of the matter is that I did.

And therefore the hunt for a cheap-&-cheerful swimsuit that I can afford to accidently lose continues! Wish me luck!

Sunshine & Bellinis

I wore this out for drinks with friends on Thursday night. We had the most delicious Peach Bellinis! The weather right now is rather uncharacteristically sunny and warm at the moment & I'm loving it! It was 23 degrees yesterday and I spent most of it lying in the garden & then at a BBQ to celebrate a friend's birthday. Perfect. Today, however, I have to go to work and miss the sunshine. C'est La vie I guess!

Still on the holiday clothes hunt; focusing on finding the perfect swimsuit right now. I already have a leopard print bikini from H&M that I love, but I'd like a back-up swimsuit too. Anyone found any nice ones recently? :)

Wearing & Wanting

I wore this for a wander into town today (bought lipstick, eyeliner, a ring and ingredients to make nachos(!)) on my day off work.

What I really need to do, though, is some hardcore shopping for my holiday in three weeks. I am going on a three week mini roadtrip round California & into Nevada for a few days in Las Vegas. I won't be able to pack too many clothes because we will have to fit our suitcases into our rental car for the roadtrip so I'm looking for lots of versatile pieces that can be worn a few times.

To be honest, I probably don't need that many new Summer clothes, but pre-holiday shopping is just so much fun, I can't resist! Does anyone else feel this way about pre-holiday purchasing?!

Still in love with Judas

So, a few days ago, my laptop went up in smoke. Literally. It started to make a rattling noise and then whisps of smoke started to appear out of the side of it!
Needless to say, it has been sent off for repairs, so I have been and am going to be laptop-less for a few weeks. Luckily my younger brother is kind enough to lend me his sometimes & I have the Ipad (although I'm still a novice where using it is concerned)!

I wore this outfit out on Saturday night. I didn't manage to get a full outfit shot I'm afraid, so I had to resort to the old "photograph your own legs" trick! I love this dress; it is so much fun & we all know I can never resist leopard print..!

So, I am a proud fan of Liverpool FC & on Sunday, me and the boyfriend took a trip their playing ground, Anfield, to watch them play against Newcastle. I hadn't been to see a football match live since February so I was rather excited!We won 3-0, so it was a rather successful day out! :)

Of course I had to wear my football shirt, but I thought I'd attempt to jazz it up a bit.

Headscarf + sunglasses + exact colour matching jersey motorcycle jacket (seriously, I didn't realise I owned a jacket in Liverpool red until I threw it on ;)) = my football watching outfit!
Do any of you lovely people have a favourite sports team?

Just a simple outfit that I wore to go out for coffee with the boyfriend this week.
This dress is so easy to throw on & the faux-leather belt I got from New Look about 6 years ago. I love it because it can be worn in so many different ways. With this dress I just went for the easy-peasy throw-it-on-and-tie-it. Sometimes I'm lazy ;).

Who is planning on watching The Royal Wedding tomorrow?! I'm so intrigued about Kate's dress. Plus, what colour will the Queen's hat be?! We get a public holiday here tomorrow so the boy & I are hosting a daytime BBQ/party. I hope it doesn't rain!

Back In Black

Wore this outfit out on Friday night for my dear friend Charl's birthday (Isn't her statement necklace amazing?). We had a delicious meal (I had salmon & prawn fishcakes and then pork with apple mash, nom nom) and then headed out for some alcohol related shananigans. Lots of fun! The first photo was taken in that pesky dusk lighting, so it isn't as clear as I wish it could be; the tights have teeny polka dots all over.

I love wearing black, but when I put on white floral jeans & this vintage 80s candy striped knitted sweater yesterday I suddenly felt happy & girly. The sun was shining and Spring was in the air :)! These photos were taken at one of my best friend's house. She has just bought a new camera so I took my tripod & camera over so we could figure out how to use it/ take silly photos. I think we ended up doing more of the latter...!

Also, I always forget how much I love wearing scarves & bandanas in my hair until I ransdomly decide to wear one. I think I will have to stock up for Summer :)

I wore this to lunch with friends earlier this week. As per usual, I left getting ready to the very last minute and ended up rushing round like a mad woman, pulling things out of drawers. Crystal Method [Felder Felder A/W]

I'm slowly but surely making my way through all of LFW's offerings so far and I wanted to post about the Felder twins latest collection first. From the leather, the studding, the goathair embellisments... All the way to the bold silver ensembles, I was sold on this collection as soon as I set eyes on it.

I am most definitely a trousers kind of girl, and I'm loving the ankle length suede electric blue pants, as well as the shiny silver pair (which, if aliens' were trendsetting fashionistas, would be part of their uniform). But the skirts and dresses also excited me, as did that crystal embellished leather jacket!

St Valentine

Apologies for the long delay in posting, I've been staying at my boyfriend's flat and he has no internet installed yet!

Yesterday was Valentine's Day & I awoke to fresh Danish Pastries, roses, a lovely card and New York, I Love You on DVD. A perfect start to the day! The boy and I walked along the canal in the sun (it was freezing though) and then spent the evening seeing a movie & then eating amazing Italian food at a lovely restaurant. An A+ VDay!

Also, near the restaurant we spotted the entrance to an amazing, old market hall and realised that the inscription read 'Opened 14 Feb 1873' (last photo), so the building was celebrating its 138th birthday on Valentine's Day :).

It was one of my best friend's birthday this weekend, which was a fantastic excuse to party!
I wore an old favourite Zara dress & Topshop booties, with House of Holland Paris tights that I got for Christmas. I was so scared that I would rip them at some point in the night, but they managed to last the night unscathed, thank goodness!

Also, I am aware that the close-up photo of the tights is an extremely bizarre leg angle. Sorry for lack of decent photographs; night-out photos always turn out rather random, it must be said!!

I am currently enjoying a long weekend off work :). I had my hair cut today (the fringe had grown insanely long) & did some shopping. I bought a birthday present for one of my best friends, whose birthday is tomorrow, as well as a dress from Topshop & tee from Topman for myself!

Speaking of shopping at Topman, I can't stop eyeing up men's t-shirts recently. The tee in these photos is from Primark men's section; I probably shop there more than the woman's section to be honest - if I ever need a basic white/grey/black tee that is were I head to first.

Also, this bag was a recent sale bargain from Urban Outfitters. It was £20, reduced from £60 & I love the colour, the shape, the studs. I just love it. There is nothing quite like a brand new bag... Except, maybe, a brand new pair of shoes ;)!

Precious Metal

I slipped away to take these photos during my first ever attempt at poker with family & friends on Friday night. I folded too early a few times & won absolutely nothing, but it was fun! I'm going to brush up on my skills & become a world class poker player ;) haha.

All rings are Topshop; it is far too easy to wander into Topshop & accidently purchase a ring & I do it way too often!
My most recent buy is the large pink stone, which I am very pleased with, even if it is somehow larger now than it felt in the shop?! No idea how my fingers have shrunk...!

Glitz & Movies

I love this H&M cardigan, which I bought months ago and never got round to wearing (as usual). The silver detailing is beads & it feels quite heavy to wear, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing!

I saw The Kings Speech on Sunday night & Black Swan tonight. I really enjoyed Black Swan; it was a great psychological thriller, but I loved The Kings Speech. This is probably because I hadn't been particularly looking forward to seeing it, so how good it is was a nice surprise. Colin Firth deserves an Oscar for his performance as King George VI methinks.
Everyone should see both movies! :)

So, I turned 23 on Monday!
I celebrated with Italian food, cheesecake, cocktails & best friends. Perfect. I wanted to wear heeled boots, but it was too snowy so I had to wear sensible shoes!

I got some lovely gifts, including an Ipod Touch & dock, Hotel Chocolat goodies, David Attenborough DVDs (wildlife documentaries = <3), horror cupcake recipe book (can't wait to attempt anatomically correct heart shaped red velvets (seriously)!), feathered 'madame' slippers, UO tee I've wanted for ages & lots of other amazing things =].

Three days until Christmas!

Birthdays, Snow, Christmas Jumpers

It was my boyfriend's birthday yesterday :). We spent the day in Manchester, vistited the Xmas markets, wandered round the insanely busy shops & then met up with friends to eat some amazing food! When we were in the restaurant it began to snow... By the time I made it back home the snow was at 12cm and this morning... 20cms! I still have to go to work though, boo!

Winter Walks

Went on the perfect Winter walk beside the frozen canal this weekend. Crunching through icy puddles is such a simple, yet completely satisfying pleasure! We even picked sloe berries; Christmas drinks will be extra fun with homemade Sloe Gin! =]
I bought this 70s style coat from Miss Selfridge when I was about 15. I wore it that year, but for about 6 years it has sat in my wardrobe untouched... Until now! It is so warm and cosy; I am so glad I never got rid of it as it is the best Winter walk coat!

Bento Box Time

On our last night in Vancouver, my boyfriend's mum took us to one of her favourite Japanese restaurants near the apartment (Junsei River on Robson) for a Bento Box dinner. I think I chose option C, which included chicken yaki soba, tempura veg & prawns, salad, california rolls & fruit. It was delicious, and, seriously, I could eat tempura prawns every day. Fact.
Apologies for the fact that I am wearing the same studded jumper as a few posts down; it is just so warm and cosy, I love it!

An Ode To Vancouver

Probably the longest ever gap in posting has just occured; eek! But I am back with a vengence... OK, not with a vengence; with lots of photos from my recent holiday in Vancouver!

My boyfriend's parents live in downtown Vancouver (on West Georgia to be precise!) and I was lucky to get the chance to join him in staying with them last week. I have visited Vancouver once before, when they were originally apartment hunting in 2007, and I loved it even more this time =]. I am very jealous of all who live there!

We ate lots of nice food (including an insanely large caramel/chocolate apple, which I am convinced must be the food of the gods), visited Bowen Island and walked a trail, shopped, took lots of photos, watched my first ice hockey game, had crazy jetlag, walked for hours and even did the tourist thing and went up to the viewing deck in the Harbour Centre... Fun.

Haircut & Fireworks

I was so suprised when I read "£5" scrawled in red ink over the top of the original £45 label on these booties, that I actually had to find a sales assistant and gain reassurance that the shoes were in fact reduced to so cheap, before I took them to the tills! I do love an unexpected bargain!

Also, I recieved an email about Juicy Couture shoes recently, and I felt that I had to share one pair with you guys as they suprised me so much! I must admit, I usually avoid Juicy Couture because, despite the fact the brand has moved on, velour tracksuits in bright colours still pop up in my head everytime the name is mentioned. However, I genuinly love these wool-lined wedge boots; perfect for this Winter!

These photos were taken during one of my best friend's 23rd birthday celebrations last weekend. I love this dress, it isn't too short so I will be able to wear it for slightly more formal occasions in future, plus I love the fact that it has double breasted buttons all the way down it.
I had to include some food porn in the form of the amazing chocolate truffle cake that my friend's mother made for her birthday. Home made cake is always the most delicious!

Now I am heading over to Style.com to catch up on LFW; despite getting down to London for a few days in Feb, I've been so busy over the last couple of months that I've had to neglect anything LFW related & therefore I feel completely clueless right now; not good!

I wore this to my brother's birthday meal, which was held at Sapporo teppanyaki restaurant. It was so much fun watching the chefs cook in front of us on a giant hot plate! And the salmon teriyaki I ate was probably the most delicious salmon I have ever eaten. Yum. Wish I had taken a photo of it!!

Apologies for being AWOL from the blog for approximately three million years!
Leeds festival was loads of fun (except for the part where I had £150 stolen from me as I slept - how I didn't wake up is beyond me).

There were some amazing performances; Arcade Fire, Foxy Shazam, Weezer, Biffy Clyro, The Cribs, Gallows, Cancer Bats, Blink 182, Billy Talent... Even Guns N' Roses was pretty good, though Axl Rose had about 6 outfit changes!

Plus, there were many hilarious moments around the campfire with a can of cider, and the silent disco was so good that we entered about 2am, and then about 10 minutes later I looked at my watch and it was 4.45am haha.

Now I am back living at the boyfriend's house whilst his mam works abroad for a few months, which is fun since he does all the cooking, haha. Tonight he made delicious Red thai curry =]

I wore this to go out for my family dinner last week. I love this blouse, which is from good old H&M. I would not be surprised if I never, ever stop loving leopard print (& skulls)!
Sadly no photos of the meal (I do love a bit of food porn), but I had goats cheese tart to start, and then braised beef for my main course... And homemade brownie with ice cream for dessert! Yum.
I think I may have a go at making my own brownies on my day off work on Friday =]

I made this necklace out of a big earring the other day, and I'm rather proud of it! I may do it

with other earrings as I seem to own so many, but never wear them. Also, I absolutely love this jacket; it is perfect for Summer as it is lightweight and not too hot =].

My boyfriend and I really need to get sorted and buy Leeds festival tickets on Ebay, because last year we left it until the week before the fest (which is at the end of Aug) and I was SO stressed. I hate being disorganised! If we don't get them bought in the next week I may go insane.

Last year I got sick on the second day and spent the whole weekend sleeping in my tent and eating only dry crackers. Lying in a tent on the cold, hard ground, in a field, surrounded by tens of thousands of people partying all night is not fun when you are ill, believe me! At the end of it I was so upset at wasting my money to get sick and not enjoy the bands, that I said I might not go this year, but... Now I am desperate to go and have a good time! The line-up is pretty good too!

A few weeks ago, Very.co.uk were kind enough to send me this gorgeous one shouldered dress, from their Love label.

When I first took it out of the packaging I realised how beautiful the colours are; they really do remind me of a holiday sunset =]. It is probably one of the most colourful pieces of clothing I now own, which is definitely a good thing with the amount of black and white pieces I've been buying recently despite the fact it is the middle of Summer.

It is a lovely fit, very flattering, and the draped sleeve is so dramatic - it adds that 'extra special' detail to the dress. I wore it out to dinner with friends last week. I forgot my camera (I hate it when that happens), so no photos, but I felt great in it!

I will certainly be checking out very.co.uk in the future, especially the Love Label pieces, which are so reasonably priced, and next time I wear the dress I will try to remember to take a photo! =]

Tie Dye

It was the birthday of one of my best friends at the weekend and so we celebrated with a night out. I finished work quite late and had decided on an outfit the day before so that I didn't waste time trying on ten thousand different items of clothing.

Of course when it came down to it, I didn't feel like wearing what I had sensibly decided so ended up in a mass trying on session with only ten minutes until I was meant to be at said friend's house. Useless!

In the end though, I was happy with my final decision of this tie-dyed dress, which I bought at Topshop a year or two ago, paired with extra strappy platform heels. And I was only slightly late after all that decision making..!

I am loving this editorial from the July issue of Velvet, shot by Enrique Badulescu; I am going on holiday on Wednesday, and although it won't be practical for me to dress so decadently for lounging by the pool, I kind of wish that I could!

Zip It Up + Music Tee

I wore this for lunch & window shopping with the boy today. I love this jacket, which I picked up at Primark a few months ago, but (as usual) had never worn until today. My normal rule with Primark is to only buy basics (plain t-shirts, pumps, plain jeans) there, but I couldn't resist this. It isn't clear from the photos, but the gold trim is actually gold coloured zipper teeth.

Also, I was emailed last week about The Music Tee, created by Jeremy Wineberg, which is a project that combines music & fashion (pretty much my two favourite things along with chocolate(!)) with the creation of t-shirts featuring album artwork on the front & a tracklisting on the back. They also include a unique code on the label that lets you download the album itself at the website.
I love the idea of being able to buy a great "band t-shirt" & the singer/band's album in one purchase! Buying music isn't particularly fun anymore; I remember when I was younger & I would go straight to the shops when an album I wanted came out & buy it on CD; it was exciting. Now, all I do is press 'download' on itunes, which is pretty boring. So to be able to buy a great tee & then download the album sounds like it would bring back the thrill of buying a CD album!

1. What I wore to accompany my Mam to see her favourite singer since she was 16 (Rod Stewart, haha) in concert this week. He sang & danced for two hours with only a ten minute interval, which considering he is 65 was pretty impressive. Had lunch & shopped with Charl earlier this week. I almost bought three items (including a lovely denim playsuit) at H&M, but as I was leaving the changing rooms I decided that I need to save my money up for a camera and so very sensibly handed every item back in & scarpered.

I'm pretty glad that I did since I do need a new camera as soon as possible. I lost my decent Canon Powershot 2 & a half months ago, and was using a terrible Fuji Finepix as a replacement but I (shhh) dropped that on the floor after a couple of drinks and so I am well and truely cameraless. I was originally planning to save up and buy something special camera-wise, but not having a camera at all is pretty rubbish, so I think I may just re-buy my lost Powershot. Hmmm.

Charl was kind enough to take these at her apartment, though it didn't take much persuading.. She disappeared inside for ten minutes & then came out with the biggest tripod I have ever seen, haha. Fun!

Last weekend one of my best friends down in London helped host a charity ball/party in aid of Mind (a mental health charity) so I went down to support her & the cause. It was a really fun night, although champagne + a chocolate fountain + light coloured dress = bad.

I'd like to point out that in the first photo I was dancing & not "beating someone down", ha.
You can't see it too well but I'm loving the nail colour I was wearing; it is Flamingo Pink by Barry M and I think I will probably be wearing it all Summer =]

Also, does anyone watch the Vampire Diaries? What did you think of the finale?? I don't know how I'm going to last until September for the second season (and hopefully more Damon/Elena)!

In none shoe porn related news, not only did my laptop crash but the battery pack has also broke, so it is well and truely in heaven now. Therefore I am on the search for the perfect, reasonably priced laptop at the moment, which is pretty boring. This is why I have been looking at shoes instead tonight; much more fun!

I voted in my first general election today, and I'm glad I used my vote. Quite a few people I spoke to at work today said they weren't going to bother voting, which annoyed me. I hope all you Brits voted today =]!

Last week I went to Chester Zoo with the Boy & our friend. It was quite a nice day, maybe not actually warm enough for the ice-cream I bought, but I got slightly carried away at the sight of blue sky. Plus it was a chocolate dipped cone so I literally could not resist! I saw my first Jaguar (very cute/deadly) and had a lovely photo with the giraffes!

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. I am just staying in tonight with my little brother, we are watching terrible Saturday TV & eating pizza. Sometimes its nice to stay in and relax one weekend in a while =].

I know that all I seem to write about is my lost camera, but I am still mourning my it. I'm thankful I kept my old basic digital camera, but it isn't even a tenth as pleasing to use as my Powershot was, boo hoo etc etc! I promise to stop talking about it now. Maybe!

I wore this outfit last week on a night of cocktails with friends. The dress is actually knee length and it doesn't look quite right that way so I used the belt to make it a little shorter.

Also, back in September I promised myself I wouldn't start to like clogs/mules, but over the months they have started to invade my brain and now I rather like certain pairs... Eeek! I may have even bought some, but shhhh!

Oh, and Happy Easter to anyone that celebrates!! I don't, but that isn't the point haha =]

I adore the Balmain bullet belt (ah, how I love alliteration), but if I owned it I'm sure I would accidently wear it to an airport and cause a major security alert! It is a rather exciting piece, though rather on the controversial side of accessories.

Still no camera, where it has gone is anyone's guess. I'm becoming more and more sure that I have somehow thrown it away?! I had to use my old fuji finepix the other night, it was very depressing, but better than no camera at all I suppose!

This Spring I would love to own these items. Sadly, money does not grow on trees and so I won't be, haha!

I did try the Topshop wedges on last week; big mistake because they are completely amazing and I almost bought them when I'm meant to be on a shopping ban whilst I save up money. Oops! I managed to restrain myself from reaching into my bag and handing my debit card over to the saleswoman, thank goodness!! I still haven't found my camera, so I might have to make a rather large payout for a new one anyway =[. Gutted.

I've lost my camera =[. And to make it worse I've lost it in the house somewhere! How can that happen?! The last time I had it was in the lounge, so it has clearly grown little camera legs and ran away. Very annoying!

These photos were taken before my camera hid itself, on a rather nice (but cold) wander down to the Marine lake, where we let Alfie dog swim. This was a big mistake as he didn't dry off for about 24 hours, but proceeded to jump on our bed at least three times whilst still wet - argh!

I have a never ending head cold and four 5am wake-up calls this week. Not fun! So to cheer us all (read: me) up, lets look at some gorgeous lingerie!

Now, I must admit that I'm not very good at parting with lots of money for underwear. However, I am on a bit of a self imposed shopping ban at the moment, in order to save up for Summer fun and so I have been thinking less about frivilous spending on yet another item of clothing I don't need, and more about the little things (like underwear) that can make you just as happy, and will most likely get more wear than another pair of black heels.

Yes Master lingerie exhibited their new collection at Somerset House, and they were one of the designers at the exhibition that really caught my eye, probably because beforehand I hadn't realised I could enjoy browsing lingerie as much as dresses and shoes!

Obviously these pieces aren't necessarily for everyday wear, and some pieces are strictly burlesque (the amazing green feathered pants for example), but wearing something like the skull & cross bones bra/pants set underneath one's work uniform on an awful, long day at work would make everything right with the world!
